This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the yeshcube / Somia website and bloom.somia.io, how they are used, and how you can manage them. This policy must be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process your personal data.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences, past actions or technical information necessary for its operation.

In addition to cookies, our web applications may use equivalent local storage technologies such as localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB, which perform similar functions.

2. What technologies does Somia use?

The Somia ecosystem has been designed with a local-first approach, meaning it prioritizes storing information directly on your device, minimizing the use of cookies and avoiding invasive or tracking technologies.

At Somia we only use:

• technical and essential cookies
• authentication cookies
• local storage technologies for memories, preferences and configurations
• technologies necessary for service security

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing cookies or third party trackers.

We also do not use cookie-based analytics (such as Google Analytics), unless such tools are enabled in the future with prior consent.

3. Types of cookies used

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (ESSENTIAL)

These are indispensable for browsing the website or using our web applications securely.

They allow us to:

• start and maintain user sessions
• manage authentication tokens
• load essential app configurations
• remember your basic preferences (such as language)

Without these cookies, Somia cannot function properly.

3.2 Local storage technologies (non cookies)

In addition to essential cookies, Somia uses:

• localStorage

Used to remember settings such as:

• interface language
• status of dismissed notices
• certain temporary experience parameters

IndexedDB

Used to store Somia memories and calendar events directly on your device, maximizing your privacy.

Examples include:

• somia-memories database
• memory blocks for the 18 categories
• scheduled events
• local usage data required for personalization

These data are not sent to the server unless you voluntarily enable cloud backup.

• sessionStorage

Currently not used, but may be employed occasionally for temporary processes that require data to disappear when the window is closed.

3.3 Functionality cookies (optional)

These cookies remember user convenience settings, such as:

• preferred language
• device configuration
• interface position reminders

They are not strictly necessary but improve the experience.

3.4 Analytical cookies (currently not used)

We do not currently use analytical cookies nor do we send data to third parties for browsing or marketing analysis.

If in the future tools such as experience analytics or performance measurement are enabled:

• clear information will be provided
• your consent will be required
• they will be included in an update of this policy

3.5 Somia Bloom pilot at the Universitat de València Science Park

At https://pcuv.somia.io we only use:

• a technical session cookie (pcuv_pilot) to keep your access to the pilot open; it expires when you close the browser, after 30 minutes without activity or, at most, after 12 hours
• a technical cookie (pcuv_admin) only for the team that manages bookings
• localStorage to remember the language you choose

In the pilot, Somia's memory is not stored on your device but on our server, as described in section 16 of the Privacy Policy.

4. Do we use third party cookies?

As of the date of this policy, we do not use third party cookies for advertising, tracking or profiling.

Some technology partners operating within the Somia ecosystem (for example, infrastructure, authentication or AI providers) process technical data strictly within their own platforms and do not install cookies in your browser through our site.

5. Why do we use these technologies?

We use essential cookies and local storage for the following purposes:

• allow you to log in securely
• maintain session persistence while you browse
• remember basic experience settings
• store memories, calendars and data you choose to keep on your device
• ensure stable service operation
• prevent fraud, attacks or unauthorized access

We do not use cookies to create commercial profiles nor to share information with advertisers.

6. Managing and deleting cookies

You can:

• accept or reject non essential cookies
• configure your browser to block all cookies
• delete existing cookies
• clear localStorage and IndexedDB from your browser settings

Important:

If you block or delete essential cookies, some Somia features may stop working, including:

• login
• access to private content
• secure browsing
• correct operation of the web app

Deleting local data

To delete memories or other data stored locally in IndexedDB:

Open your browser settings

Go to the Privacy / Site Data section

Locate the corresponding domain

Delete the stored data

These actions delete only local data. If you enabled cloud backup, you must also delete them through Somia's privacy settings.

7. International transfers related to cookies

The cookies we use are first-party and essential.

However, certain technical data related to sessions or security may be processed on infrastructure located outside the European Economic Area, always under safeguards such as:

• standard contractual clauses
• end to end encryption
• strict access controls

8. Updating the Cookie Policy

We may modify this policy to:

• adapt it to regulatory changes
• adjust technologies used by Somia
• include or remove services that require additional cookies

The applicable version will always be the one published with the date of the last update.
